Who we are
Lead Scout is operated by Tochukwu Ogbechie Daniel, trading as Cool Web, of No. 12 NAFDAC Road, Narayi, Kaduna, Kaduna State, Nigeria. We are the controller for the personal data we collect about users of our product and website.

Where your leads are stored
This matters, so it comes first. The leads Lead Scout collects are stored on your own computer, inside your browser. We never receive them, never see them, and never store them on our servers. Exporting a spreadsheet saves a file locally.
What we collect about you
- Your email address — from your purchase, to send your licence key and support replies.
- Your licence key and subscription identifier — to check your subscription is active.
- Usage counts — the number of leads collected against your licence each day and month, so we can apply plan limits. This is a count only; it does not include the leads themselves.
- Support messages — if you email us.
- Basic technical data — such as IP address, when your extension contacts our licensing service, used for security and abuse prevention.
We do not collect your payment card details. Those go directly to Paddle, which handles them as an independent controller.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- Providing the service (licence checks, plan limits, sending your key) — performance of our contract with you.
- Support — performance of our contract, and our legitimate interest in helping customers.
- Security and abuse prevention — our legitimate interest in protecting the service and our other customers.
- Product improvement — our legitimate interest in making Lead Scout better.
- Marketing emails, if we ever send them — your consent, withdrawable at any time.
- Accounting and tax records — compliance with a legal obligation.
Who we share it with
- Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record — for selling the product, subscription management, payments, invoicing and tax compliance. Paddle is an independent controller of the data it collects from you.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — Vercel (application hosting) and Upstash (usage counters), acting as our processors.
- Email delivery providers — to send your licence key and support replies.
- Professional advisers — legal or accounting, where needed.
- Authorities — where required by law, or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. Where data leaves the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
- Licence and subscription records — for as long as your subscription is active, and up to 7 years afterwards where needed for accounting and tax.
- Daily usage counters — about 2 days. Monthly counters — about 10 weeks.
- Support emails — up to 2 years after the conversation ends.
We delete or anonymise personal data once it is no longer needed.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email tejidanny@gmail.com. We will respond within one month, extendable where the law allows.
If you are in the UK or EEA and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and cryptographically signed licence keys. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and keep our approach under review.
Cookies
This website uses only essential cookies needed for the checkout to work, set by Paddle during payment. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may stop the checkout working.
A note on the data Lead Scout collects for you
When you use Lead Scout to collect business contact details, you become the controller of that data, not us. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and use it, and for complying with the rules on marketing communications in the countries you contact — including CAN-SPAM (US), CASL (Canada), and GDPR and PECR (UK and EU).
Changes
We may update this notice. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and we will give reasonable notice of material changes.
